Greater Family Health Kicks Off National Health Center Week with Visit From HRSA

National Health Center Week

On Monday, August 5th, Greater Family Health was pleased to welcome Anne Huang, MS, RN, Nurse Consultant from the Office of Intergovernmental and External Affairs at the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA).

During her visit, Ms. Huang was able to tour the Elgin Health Center, engaging with staff and thanking them for their hard work, recognizing their positive impact on the community she calls home. She also learned about the innovative technologies that improve patient safety and accuracy such as the Spot Monitors that employ a bidirectional interface to record patient vital signs directly into the patients’ medical record;  the AcccuVax vaccine dispensing unit that significantly reduces medication errors by receiving the vaccine order via a bidirectional interface from the practitioners and prepares the vaccine for dispensation; and the AMN Healthcare interpretation devices that can translate over 250 languages, including American Sign Language.

Anne’s presence was a testament to her unwavering support for Community Health Centers like Greater Family Health. Her visit coincided with the Kickoff of National Health Center Week which serves as our organization’s Spirit Week – recognizing and celebrating the vital role that Community Health Centers play in providing quality, affordable health care to all, regardless of their ability to pay. Anne’s visit was a perfect start to this week.
