Greater Family Health Is for Everyone

No matter the set of individual circumstances, every person deserves access to healthcare. When it comes to health care benefits, everyone is not on an equal playing field. We at Greater Family Health can work with you towards rectifying that. As a community health center, we welcome and accept everyone, regardless of their race, ethnicity, social status, immigration status, gender identity and/or sexual orientation.
The advantages that some have when applying for and receiving benefits from various programs sometimes can be divided. We see this every day in the healthcare industry. This unequal treatment was even more apparent after a pandemic ravaged the world in 2020. Marginalized and minoritized patients continued to struggle during this historic time period, but there is assistance available.

One milestone that Greater Family Health accomplished in 2020 was the approval of grants for the provision of care with the LGBTQ+ community. This gives us, as an organization, an opportunity to help a large number of people in various regions of Illinois.

Medical provisions and access to public health agencies have been a challenge for many of the LGBTQ+ community and significantly in populations of color. This part of the population has experienced a large number of hurdles to jump over in behavioral health and physical health. Our goal is to prevent those obstacles from getting in the way of a patient’s progress and treatment. We want to be a safe space for all people in need.

With health care being one of the largest categories of consumer spending today, the importance of having a cost-effective and trustworthy place such as the various locations of Greater Family Health are quite valuable for financially challenged individuals and communities.

The assistance provided by Greater Family Health comes from the staff. There are medical providers and case managers at Greater Family Health who are credentialed and experienced in providing health care and other services to HIV positive individuals and those at risk for HIV. The outreach and prevention team is continually working in the field to connect clients to practitioners who provide care and treatment.

Greater Family Health is growing and improving on ways we as an organization can assist communities. We appreciate any feedback as we learn and expand our practice.

Please help us spread the word by telling your family and friends about what the various health care facilities in our organization currently offer. Together we can tackle the barriers that keep our community separated concerning access to care.
