Greater Elgin Family Care Center Becomes “Greater Family Health”

New Name Reflects Commitment to Mission, High-Quality Care and Better Health

Today, Greater Elgin Family Care Center announces a new name: Greater Family Health, which “reflects a commitment to broad-based services, high-quality care, and better health for the patients, families and communities we serve,” says President/CEO Bob Tanner.  In support of this unifying name, Greater Family Health is also launching a new website and a streamlined Call Center to make it easier for patients to find the care and support they need across the network.

“Three things will not change,” says Tanner.  “First, our important mission will always remain the same: to provide quality, affordable health care for all, including those without the ability to pay. Second, patients will still be able to see the practitioners and team members who have cared for them all along.  Finally, they will also still have access to the patient portal and their complete medical record.”

“What is changing, however, is that all of our locations are now unified under one name to help patients learn more about – and access – the outstanding clinical and support services available throughout our organization” Tanner continues.

Greater Family Health is comprised of nine health centers that until today were using eight different names.  “Not only was this confusing, but we also found through research that most people who were using one of our health centers were unaware of the other locations and services that we offer,” explains Tanner.  “By using one name, streamlining our website and social media strategy, and establishing a single telephone number, we will increase awareness of all the services our organization offers.”

Greater Family Health provides prevention, diagnostic and treatment services and programs for people of all ages, with unique programs dedicated to Women’s Health, Pediatric Care, Adult & Senior Health, Dental Services, and Behavioral Health, among others.  To help remove barriers to care, Greater Family Health also offers patient support services such as translation services, health benefits enrollment, discounted pharmaceuticals, transportation assistance, and care and case management.
