Greater Family Health’s first year of the S.P.I.R.I.T. Of Excellence Employee Recognition Program came to end in May. This program was introduced in September 2012, after feedback received from many staff members via Employee Opinion Surveys and employee suggestions. Our staff requested a change to our Shining Stars Program, desiring instead a program that provided consistent feedback throughout the year and allowed for more staff members to be recognized. As a result of this feedback, a committee was devised and together they helped formulate the S.P.I.R.I.T. of Excellence Employee Recognition Program.
Now, employees are being recognized monthly and communicated via Greater Family Health’s monthly staff newsletter. Quarterly, eight professionals (two from each category) are being recognized as Top Performers. This now means annually up to 32 individuals are being recognized across the categories of Patient Liaison, Care Partner, Practitioner, and Organizational Support. Annually, one individual is named the Top Performer for each category. As a result of this program, individuals are now able to receive recognition from patients, vendors and co-workers.
