DeKalb County Community Foundation invests in vision screening

Sycamore, IL – DeKalb County Community Foundation presented Greater Family Health with a $5,000 allocation today, allocated for the purchase of a vision screener for the pediatric patients of Greater Family Health in Sycamore.

Since opening on December 18, 2013, Greater Family Health has provided care to over 1,500 pediatric patients.

Through the donation by DeKalb County Community Foundation, each pediatric patient will now receive a fast, accurate and complete vision screening. The service will begin by December 8, 2014.
The new equipment automatically screens for common vision problems in a fast and comprehensive manner, with a minimum of patient involvement. Children needing complete vision testing and perhaps corrective treatment will be referred to area optometrists for care.
