Greater Family Health Offers New Substance Abuse Treatment Options

Elgin, IL- Greater Family Health is excited to begin offering new Substance Use Disorder treatment services as a result of funding received from the State of Illinois!

Through a pending contract with the Illinois Department of Human Services, Substance Use Recovery and Prevention (SUPR) Division, Greater Family Health will soon begin offering expanded outpatient individual and group therapy, adult psychiatry, case management, peer recovery support and additional integrated primary health care for all adults (18+) struggling with Substance Use Disorder (SUD).

Awarded funding as a result of a competitive application submitted to SUPR, Greater Family Health is 1 of 5 Illinois Federally Qualified Health Centers chosen to expand the breadth and volume of Substance Use Disorder services offered.

Once initiated, expanded SUD services will be offered at several Greater Family Health locations as a result of the resources allocated by SUPR:

Specially trained physicians, psychiatrists, counselors, social workers and peer recovery support specialists will work together to provide interdisciplinary treatment for all SUD patients. The expanded services are expected to begin within the next 2 months.

Greater Family Health is dedicated to expanding local, outpatient SUD treatment accessibility to all, including those without the ability to pay. Greater Family Health accepts Medicaid (including MCO), uninsured (sliding scale fee applies) and private commercial insurance plans. Eligible patients also have access to our 340B discount prescription program.

Community members are encouraged to call our MAT/SUD Program Coordinator, Claire Brown, at 844-599-3700, to ask questions and learn more about the program.

Greater Family Health is the area’s premier Federally Qualified Health Center, providing the full range of quality, affordably-priced, fully integrated primary care services to over 51,000 area residents by almost 167,000 medical, behavioral health and dental appointments annually. The organization is accredited by The Joint Commission, repeatedly nationally recognized for both its health outcomes and cost efficiency, and provides care regardless of the patient’s ability to pay.
