Greater Family Health Receives Multiple National Awards for Quality of Care – Again!

Elgin, IL-

Greater Family Health’s 2018 outcomes on Bureau of Primary Health Care Clinical Indicators have been recognized as among the best of all Federally Qualified Health Centers in the United States and Illinois – for the 6th year in a row!

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) recognized Greater Family Health as a National Quality Leader, Health Center Quality Leader-Gold, Advancing HIT For Quality awardee, and Clinical Quality Improver on August 20, 2019. The Awards are in recognition of Greater Family Health’s excellence in the clinical care of its over 51,000 patients.

Greater Family Health’s Hypertension/Heart Health outcome ranked in the top 2% nationally, resulting in the National Quality Leader Award. This is the 2nd time Greater Family Health has been recognized as a National Quality Leader, with the first being in 2016.

Greater Family Health’s overall clinical outcomes ranked in the top 10% of the Country’s 1,362 reporting Federally Qualified Health Centers, resulting in the receipt of the Health Center Quality Leader-Gold Award. Greater Family Health has received the National Health Center Quality Leader for 6 consecutive years, the National Clinical Quality Improver Award in 5 of the past 6 years, and the Advancing HIT for Quality Award every year it has been offered.

Greater Family Health is also a 2017 Million Hearts Hypertension Control Champion, awarded by the Centers for Disease Control.

Coupled with operational and financial comparison reports also issued on 8/20/2019, the Awards acknowledge that Greater Family Health’s outcomes are far better than most Health Centers in the State and Nationally, on an array of clinical and financial indicator outcomes.

“I continue to believe that the definition of success is not achieving the goal, but maintaining that level of excellence over a long period of time. This is the 6th year in a row that Greater Family Health has received such prestigious recognitions from HHS/HRSA”, said Bob Tanner, President/CEO of Greater Family Health. “It’s our practitioners and professionals who make such excellent patient outcomes continue to happen” said Tanner.

The reports indicate that Greater Family Health also has the 3rd lowest cost per patient of the 44 FQHCs in Illinois. Further:

“Greater Family Health provides value. Whether you’re a patient, a payer or a taxpayer, with our costs so low and our quality amongst the country’s best, one can easily see that Greater Family Health is not only a trusted source of quality care, but a real value” continued Tanner.

An Award celebration is scheduled for Monday, August 26, 2019, with HHS/HRSA representatives personally attending and presenting the Awards to the leadership of Greater Family Health.
