Unannounced Survey from The Joint Commission results in Best Outcome to Date!

Elgin, IL-
June 17, 2016

Greater Family Health was again Accredited by The Joint Commission on Saturday, June 11th, after successfully completing its 4th full survey. The organization experienced a 4-day survey – a first for the organization – due to the tremendous growth Greater Family Health has experienced over the years. The nation’s premier body for assessing the quality and safety of care provided to patients fully renewed Greater Family Health’s accreditation, recognizing our continued excellence in the provision of quality care.

The Joint Commission measures Health Center performance against more than 250 ambulatory care Standards with over 1,000 Elements of Performance. Greater Family Health’s survey results indicate that the organization was in compliance with all but 4 Elements of Performance, placing us within the top 15% of outcomes in the United States. This is a “tremendous survey result,” to quote one of our surveyors, who also noted that Greater Family Health is the “cream of the crop” and a model for others to replicate!

Thus, as a result of the unannounced survey, Greater Family Health remains Fully Accredited for both Ambulatory Care and as a Primary Care Medical Home. In addition to Greater Family Health’s Full Accreditation being continued, the organization was also determined to by fully compliant with all National Patient Safety Goals, a significant accomplishment in and of itself!
