On Thursday, November 14th, 2019 Greater Family Health celebrated the expansion of the Health Center in Hanover Park with staff, Board Members, community partners and area elected officials. The expansion of this Health Center began in late summer and was completed at the end of September 2019. As a result of this exciting expansion, Greater Family Health will have additional space in which to offer area residents increased access to primary health care and additional Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services.

During the Open House, guests enjoyed learning about the services provided at Greater Family Health, met staff, and received tours of the newly expanded area. The expansion added 3 exam rooms, a large group therapy room, and several enhanced areas which support patient care.

Craig Dodt, Greater Family Health’s Past Board Chair, welcomed guests and thanked them for their support and participation. Also present at the event were Rodney Craig, Hanover Park Village President, and Eira Corral Sepúlveda, Greater Family Health Board Member and Hanover Park Village Clerk. Mayor Craig thanked Greater Family Health for the many years of care provision to Hanover Park residents. Ms. Sepúlveda expressed how proud she was of being a Greater Family Health Board Member, and her excitement for the expansion of this Health Center and its increased capacity to serve more area residents.

Claire Brown, Greater Family Health’s Substance Use Disorder/Medication Assisted Treatment Program Coordinator, shared a brief overview of Greater Family Health’s new SUD services and the benefits that patients experience when they choose Greater Family Health for their care. Ms. Brown has led the organization’s efforts regarding designing and implementing SUD/MAT services throughout Greater Family Health.

The event concluded with a moving address by Greater Family Health’s President/CEO Bob Tanner, who thanked the Leadership Team and staff for their hard work and dedication to the mission of Greater Family Health and their commitment to excellence. Mr. Tanner shared that it was the staff’s efforts which led to the expansion of this Health Center and the many awards that Greater Family Health has received over the years, including the most recent National Quality Award received in August 2019.

Mr. Tanner also introduced and thanked Donna Anderson, whom he affectionately calls the “Mother of Greater Family Health”. As the Mother of Greater Family Health, Mrs. Anderson has been dedicated to the mission and vision of Greater Family Health since the beginning and was instrumental in helping create Greater Family Health 21 years ago.
