Mental Illness Awareness week

Have you, or anyone you know, ever felt down, angry, irritated, anxious, stressed and not known why?
Mental Illness Awareness Week provides us with an opportunity to bring awareness, aid, and support to those who are struggling.
Approximately 1 out of every 5 individuals experience some form of mental illness.
Mental illness impacts our minds and bodies – just as a physical illness does – yet the symptoms felt and shown can be very different. By the age of 14 years old, chronic mental illness is impacting nearly 50% of the population.

At Greater Family Health, our patients’ mental health is a priority. That is why we provide an extensive array of behavioral health, substance use disorder, and primary care services.

Our behavioral health services are available at Greater Family Health in Elgin and at Greater Family Health in McHenry. Our services include psychiatry for children, adolescents and adults and counseling for individuals, couples, and families. These services aid our patients with processing their feelings in a healthy, productive manner instead of a negative or detrimental manner.

We will continue to support you and your family’s needs as we work to increase awareness of mental illness and implement the effective treatments associated with it.
