Lupe Fonseca, COO of Greater Family Health, honored at YWCA Leader Luncheon

On May 10th, 2018 community members from the Elgin area gathered during the YWCA Elgin’s 35th Leader Luncheon to honor and celebrate distinguished women leaders who make a substantial positive impact and contribution to the community. One of those distinguished women leaders honored was our very own Lupe Fonseca, Chief Operations Officer of Greater Family Health!

Lupe was nominated by Greater Family Health, and was awarded the Beatrice Dorsey Award for Business and Professions by the YWCA Selection Committee. Amongst many significant attributes, the Committee noted Lupe’s leadership resulting in the opening and operation of Greater Family Health’s ten Health Centers, and in her contributions regarding making Greater Family Health a leader amongst Community Health Centers in Illinois. The Greater Family Health Leadership Team and Lupe’s immediate family attended the YWCA Leader Luncheon to support Lupe and celebrate her award and achievements.

Lupe has implemented Greater Family Health’s vision of operating a non-profit corporation as a business, while simultaneously maintaining the essential features of a non-profit, including achieving the mission of the organization, achieving excellent patient satisfaction and maintaining superior clinical and operational outcomes. Lupe demonstrates leadership in our environment daily. She successfully creates an overall positive emotional tone, a sense of hope in an ever-changing industry, and is constantly mindful of others and the larger environment.

Lupe’s educational achievements, her role in our organization and the fact that she is bicultural make her an inspiration to many Greater Family Health staff members. She is a role model for many young Latinas who are starting their career with Greater Family Health.

We are proud of all that Lupe has achieved on behalf of our patients and organization and know that there are many more achievements and successes to come with her on the Greater Family Health team.

Congratulations Lupe – and thank you for your dedication and hard work!
