The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) recognized Greater Family Health with 7 National Awards on August 25, 2020:

Greater Family Health received all but 1 possible National Award, all in recognition of Greater Family Health’s excellence in the care provided to its over 53,500 patients.

The organization received the most Awards of any of the 45 awardees in Illinois, as well as the largest resultant monetary award, acknowledging Greater Family Health as the top performing Federally Qualified Health Center in Illinois!

Greater Family Health’s Hypertension/Heart Health outcome ranked in the top 2% nationally, resulting in the National Quality Leader Award. This is the 3rd time Greater Family Health has been recognized as a National Quality Leader, with the first being in 2016.

Greater Family Health’s clinical outcomes ranked in the top 10% of Country’s 1,385 reporting Federally Qualified Health Centers, resulting in the receipt of the Health Center Quality Lead-Gold Award. Greater Family Health has received the National Health Center Quality Leader for 7 consecutive years, the National Clinical Quality Improver Award in 6 of the past 7 years, and the Advancing HIT for Quality Award every year it has been offered.

Greater Family Health is also a 2017 Million Hearts Hypertension Control Champion, a 5-year honor, awarded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Coupled with operational and financial comparison reports issued on August 14, 2020, the Awards acknowledge that Greater Family Health’s outcomes are far better than other Health Centers’, both in the State and Nationally, on an array of clinical and financial indicator outcomes.

“There’s no doubt that the definition of success is not just achieving the goal, but maintaining that level of excellence over a long period of time. Here’s to our many practitioners and professionals who make such a multitude of excellent outcomes continue to happen” said Bob Tanner, President/CEO of Greater Family Health. ‘Really – an amazing accomplishment by all our staff – a 7th consecutive year that Greater Family Health has received such prestigious recognitions from HHS/HRSA!” said Tanner.

The released comparison data indicate that Greater Family Health also has the 3rd lowest cost per patient of the 45 FQHCs in Illinois. Further:

“Greater Family Health continues to provide real value. I’ll say it again….Whether you’re a patient, a payer or a taxpayer, with our costs so low and our quality amongst the country’s best, one can easily see that Greater Family Health is not only a trusted source of quality care, but a real value” continued Tanner.
