Dedicated to Greater Care – How Greater Family Health Helps Insured and Uninsured Patients Access Care

As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Greater Family Health provides access to high-quality, cost-effective health care services to everyone, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.


Nonetheless, Greater Family Health is aware of the significance of being covered by health insurance. Health insurance can help you save money, provide access to affordable care from your doctor and specialists and insurance can give you easier access to the care you need — including medical, dental, and behavioral health.


Greater Family Health accepts a variety of insurance plans, including the following:

  • Medicaid – HealthChoice Illinois Plans & AllKids Insurance Plans
  • Medicare / Medicare Advantage Insurance Plans
  • Medicare-Medicaid Alignment Initiative (MMAI / MMP) Insurance Plans
  • Most Private, Commercial, and Marketplace Insurance Plans
  • Other Insurance Plans, including Access to Care for Cook County residents

If you or a loved one are uninsured, Greater Family Health can help you apply for health benefits year-round at any of our 10 Health Centers. Our Health Benefits Specialists are trained to help you or your loved one determine which type of plan you may qualify for. Furthermore, our Health Benefits Specialists can aid residents aged 65 and older who do not meet immigration status for Medicaid apply for the state-funded program, Health Benefits for Immigrant Seniors.


Even if you are not eligible for a health insurance plan, you may be eligible for Greater Family Health’s Sliding Fee Discount program. Through this program, you may receive behavioral, dental, and medical appointments at a discounted cost, depending on your income and family size.
