The grand opening of Greater Family Health’s newest Health Center, Greater Family Health, was held on Wednesday, January 29th, 2014.
“We are thrilled to have opened our 7th full-time (Health Center) location,” said Bob Tanner, President/CEO of Greater Family Health. “Greater Family Health will create additional access to quality, affordable primary health care for the area’s uninsured, publicly insured and underinsured residents, all regardless of the ability to pay. We received countless support from the community upon planning and opening this Health Center – especially KishHealth System, State Representative Bob Prichard and the Cities of Sycamore and DeKalb – for which we are extremely grateful.”
Greater Family Health , was temporarily closed by KishHealth System on December 4, 2013. It was re-opened on December 18, 2013 and continues to provide comprehensive pediatric and family medicine care, focusing on area publicly insured, uninsured and underinsured residents. Appointments for care can be made by calling 815.363.9900.
Greater Family Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center, received federal funding from the Bureau of Primary Health Care to support the operation of both locations. The funding has allowed for the transfer of both locations from KishHealth System to Greater Family Health.
Greater Family Health – Sycamore will be open 6 days a week, beginning at 8:00 am each day, with evening appointments Monday – Thursday until 7:30 pm. Patients can also walk-in for care at either location and same-day appointments are available for existing patients.
