Greater Family Health is the 5th largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Illinois, providing affordable health care and additional services to underserved communities. One of the key initiatives that enables Greater Family Health to enhance its services is the participation in the Federal 340B Drug Discount Program. The 340B Program allows eligible healthcare organizations to purchase medications at significantly reduced prices, improving access to essential pharmaceuticals for their patients.
Under the 340B program, Greater Family Health can purchase medication at substantially reduced prices which will significantly reduce the financial burden on patients by lowering their prescription medications costs.
The 340B Drug Discount Program is designed to support healthcare providers serving vulnerable communities by providing discounts on outpatient prescription drugs. Greater Family Health uses this program to ensure that patients who may otherwise struggle to afford their medications can receive them at lower prices. By partnering with pharmacies, Greater Family Health can apply these savings to their patients.
Participation in this program also enables Greater Family Health to reinvest savings in other critical areas of patient care such as our Patient Resource Specialists who help our patients with their referrals. The impact is evident in the improvement of patient care outcomes and increased patient satisfaction.
Greater Family Health’s participation in the 340B program highlights our dedication to reducing healthcare disparities and providing affordable quality health care, such as necessary medications, to those that need it most. Greater Family Health continues on its mission to better serve you, your families, and your communities in making healthcare accessible and affordable for everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.
