Greater Family Health, the 5th largest Community Health Center in the state of Illinois, has been selected by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) as one of 400 Community Health Centers nationwide to receive the Behavioral Health Service Expansion (BHSE) Award.
This significant $240 million grant, facilitated by the Biden-Harris Administration, aims to launch and expand behavioral health care services across 400 Community Health Centers. These Health Centers collectively provide primary care to over 10 million patients, most of which are uninsured, underinsured, or on Medicaid.
With this grant, Greater Family Health will be able to expand the availability of behavioral health appointments, including outpatient therapy and psychiatry for patients of all ages and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services and Medication-Assisted-Treatment (MAT) for patients 18 and older.
