Greater Family Health was honored to welcome Congressman Jesus “Chuy” Garcia to our newest Health Center in Franklin Park on April 2nd. The visit comes after Illinois’ 4th Congressional District was redrawn in recent years, which placed the Health Center within the Congressman’s constituency.
During his visit, Congressman Garcia took an extensive tour of the Health Center, engaging with staff and patients, and gaining firsthand insight into the integrated technology systems employed at Greater Family Health to enhance the provision of high quality healthcare services. The Congressman got an up-close look at the Spot Monitors that employ a bidirectional interface to record patient vital signs directly into the patients’ medical record. Similarly, AcccuVax is also deployed at the Health Center – a vaccine dispensing unit that significantly reduces medication errors by receiving the vaccine order via a bidirectional interface from the practitioners and prepares the vaccine for dispensation. Greater Family Health patients also benefit from the availability of AMN Healthcare interpretation devices that can translate over 250 languages, including American Sign Language.
“These technologies allow Greater Family Health to provide our patients with safe and high-quality care,” said Lupe Fonseca, Greater Family Health’s COO. “It was an honor being able to show the Congressman exactly how his constituents in and near Franklin Park are able to access quality and affordable health care.”
Congressman Garcia has been a long-time advocate for Community Health Centers and believes everyone should have access to affordable and quality health care.
The visit concluded with a roundtable discussion where Bob Tanner, President and CEO of Greater Family Health, shared an impact report regarding services offered by Greater Family Health for residents of the greater Franklin Park area, as well as explored collaborative efforts to further improve health services for patients in Illinois.
