Important Notice: Medicaid Redetermination

The State of Illinois is preparing for the end of the nation’s COVID-19 Public Health Emergency. If you had Medicaid insurance, you were automatically re-enrolled in Medicaid as part of the emergency response. When the Public Health Emergency ends, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will stop automatically re-enrolling people for Medicaid.

This means Medicaid members will lose their insurance if they do not re-enroll.

Follow these steps to make sure you do not lose your Medicaid health insurance:
  • Visit medicaid.illinois.gov or call (877) 805-5312 before April 1, 2023, to update your contact information.
    • The State of Illinois needs your mailing address, phone number and email address to contact you about your Medicaid
      coverage.
  • Check your mail for a letter from the State of Illinois.
    • After April 1, the State of Illinois will mail a letter to you about your Medicaid coverage. The letter will let you know if you need to complete a renewal form.
  • Complete your renewal form (if you get one).
    • If a renewal form is needed, fill out the form and return it to the State of Illinois right away so you do not lose Medicaid insurance.

If you can no longer get Medicaid, you may be able to get insurance using the Health Insurance Marketplace. This marketplace allows you to get health insurance at a lower price. Call 844.599.3700 to learn more or speak to a Health Benefits Specialist today!

Health Benefits Enrollment

Greater Family Health wants you to live greater, and that means helping you apply for health benefits. We have a team of Health Benefits Specialists who are ready to help you apply for health benefits coverage year-round. They can help you determine which type of plan, in the Marketplace (Affordable Care Act/ObamaCare) or through Medicaid, you may qualify for.

If you are a Medicaid patient, our Health Benefit Specialists can help you enroll in your choice of Managed Care Organization, but they cannot tell you which plan to choose.

If you’d like to schedule a conversation with one of our specialists, call 844-599-3700, ext. 2102.

Affordable Care Act

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) was signed into law in 2010. The ACA increases access to health insurance coverage and services for all Americans. This federal law focuses on consumer choices and protections. It makes it easier and more affordable for individuals and families to enroll in health insurance.

Health Insurance Marketplace

The Marketplace is a website designed to help you apply for coverage, compare insurance options, and enroll in health coverage that is best for you and your family. Those who do not qualify for Medicare, Medicaid, or employer-sponsored insurance, may be eligible for financial assistance to reduce the cost of monthly premiums and medical expenses.

Health Benefits for Immigrant Adults & Seniors

Non-citizens aged 42 and over who do not meet immigration status for Medicaid may be eligible for the Health Benefits for Immigrant Adults or Seniors program, which is a state funded program.

Our Health Benefit Specialists can help you determine if you qualify and help you apply.
